An apparatus (10) for producing elongate multi-fiber of extremely small size. A housing (12) is provided having first and second ends and a substantially smooth interior surface. A means is provided for introducing high consistency wood pulp into the housing. A source of ozone gas bleaches the high consistency pulp within the housing. A pin rotor (14) is rotatably mounted within the housing, and includes a plurality of pins (22), each having a tip (23). A means is provided for limiting the buildup of high consistency pulp fiber accretions on the pin tips.
Appareil (10) permettant de produire des particules multifibres de très petite taille comportant un logement (12) présentant une première et une seconde extrémité et une surface intérieure sensiblement lisse; un moyen de chargement de pâte à bois à haute consistance dans ledit logement. Une source d'ozone blanchit la pâte chargée dans le logement. Un rotor hérisson (14) monté tournant dans le logement est muni d'une série d'aiguilles (22) dont chacune présente une pointe (23). Un moyen limite l'accumulation d'accrétions de fibres de pâte à haute concentration sur les pointes des aiguilles.
