ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an apparatus for forming a chord signal comprising a frequency divider for prime, a fre- quency divider for minor third, a frequency divider for major third and at least one of a frequency divider for fifth and a frequency divider for seventh, the divider being connected in common to an input terminal for a tone source signal, and the frequency divider for minor third and the frequency divider for major third being connected to a selector circuit for selectively passing the output signal of one of the latter two frequency dividers to produce a major chord or a minor chord of music.
