A B S T R A C T APPARATUS FOR GASIFYING FINELY DIVIDED FUELS A gasification reactor comprising a pressure resistant outer shell and an inner membrane wall of cooling tubes defining the gasification chamber, said cooling tubes being enclosed in an intermediate shell which is mounted in the outer shell. Each cooling tube comprises a series of outwardly extending fastening plates piercing through corresponding grooves in the intermediate shell, each fastening strip having been welded to the intermediate shell. The assembly of the reactor allows quick replacing of cooling tubes. As a result of the present design mechanical stresses in the reactor walls caused by thermal expansion of the cooling tubes are relatively low as compared with such stresses in conventional reactors.
