A apparatus for generating a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen including an electrolytic chamber for separating water into hydrogen and oxygen and having thermo-control switches at two opposite sides, a heat dissipating device, which consists of a spiral radiating pipe, a fan controlled by the thermo-control switches, and a pump controlled to pump water from the electrolytic chamber for circulation through the spiral radiating pipe; a gas storage tank having an input port connected to the output port of the electrolytic chamber and a pressure meter controlled by a pressure controller to measure the pressure of the mixture of hydrogen and oxygen; a cooling tank having an input port connected to an output port of the gas storage tank and a by-pass pipe for putting a volatile matter into the cooling tank, and an anti-knock device having an input port connected to an output port of the cooling tank and an output port connected to a welding blowpipe through a pressure regulator and a backfire preventing device.
