ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an apparatus for generat- ing high pressure fluid comprising a cylinder having a recipro- cable ram slidingly mounted therein. Suction and a pressurization of the fluid are effected by the reciprocation of said ram. An oil chamber is connected at the pressurizing side within said cylinder. Lubricating oil in said oil chamber has an equivalent pressure to the high pressure fluid generated. This pressure is passed to the slidable contact portions of the ram. The apparatus is capable of detecting insufficiency of lubricating oil when it occurs.
