A B S T R A C T A grinding tool for grinding cracks and other defects located on the inner walls of a tube or pipe. The tool and its motor drive are mounted on a shaft which is movably supported so as to be capable of being inserted into the pipe from one of its ends. The actuating means includes a pair of coacting wedges, on one of which is mounted the grinding tool and its motor drive.
