The invention relates to a device (1) for guiding a material web strip in a running direction (2), having a housing (3), in which a negative pressure generation system is arranged. It is intended to guide the material web strip safely. To this end, it is provided that a plurality of vacuum chambers (7-10 12) are arranged one after another in the running direction (2) in the housing (3), of which each comprises at least one suction device (20-25).
