ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for heat treatment of metal pieces comprising a first means for conveying a pre-heated furnace and a second conveying means adapted to convey the metal pieces through a holding furnace while rotating them along their longitudinal axes and a cooling station adapted to water-cool the rotating metal pieces. The second conveying means comprises stationary beams and lifting beams adapted to lifting the metal pieces from the stationary beams, convey them a predetermined distance and deposit them onto said stationary beams, after which the metal pieces are allowed to rotate through for a predetermined circumferential distance along said stationary beams.
