A portable apparatus for preliminarily fitting a door to a door jamb prior to fitting the door and door jamb assembly into a doorway and for preparing a door for a doorlock set. The apparatus includes a pair of end vices for attachment to the ends of the door and door jamb which aligns the jamb to the door and provides a routing guide for the header component. The apparatus further includes a main body portion which, in addition to aligning the door with the door jamb, provides an adjustable hinge template holder which allows for the routing of a recess for a hinge. The main body portion is also fitted with a doorlatch drill guide and a doorlock drill guide for the installation of a doorlock set.
