A vessel for housing an organ such as lungs from a mammal ex-vivo, for evaluation or preserva-tion. A liquid solution suitable for evaluation or preserva-tion of the lungs surrounds the organ, at least partly. The solution is circulated via an outlet and an inlet. Two pres-sure chambers are arranged between the walls of the ves-sel and the organ. A gas is introducible to the pressure chamber in order to expand the pressure chamber for oc-cupying the spaces surrounding the organ. Then, the pres-sure inside the pressure chambers is increased in order to push the solution to a higher level so that the organ is im-mersed in the solution without necessitating addition of further solution. Alternatively, the vessel is exposed to an under pressure and the pressure chambers are open to the atmosphere. In a further alternative embodiment, a solu-tion collection space has variable volume.
L'invention concerne un récipient destiné à contenir un organe tel que les poumons d'un mammifère ex vivo à des fins d'évaluation ou de conservation. Une solution liquide convenant pour l'évaluation ou la conservation des poumons entoure au moins partiellement l'organe. Cette solution est circulée par l'intermédiaire d'un orifice de sortie et d'un orifice d'entrée. Deux chambres de pression sont placées entre les parois du récipient et l'organe. Un gaz peut être introduit dans la chambre de pression afin que la dilatation de celle-ci entraîne l'occupation des espaces entourant l'organe. La pression à l'intérieur desdites chambres est ensuite augmentée afin de pousser la solution à un niveau supérieur, de façon à immerger l'organe dans la solution sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'ajouter davantage de solution. Dans une autre forme de réalisation, le récipient est exposé à une pression négative et les chambres de pression sont ouvertes sur l'atmosphère. Dans une autre forme de réalisation encore, un espace de collecte de solution présente un volume variable.
