ABSTRACT METERING APPARATUS Apparatus for metering suspension-based aerosol preparations containing an active substance with a tendancy to settle has means for preventing an increase in concentration of active substance in the region of the valve when the container is left to stand. The means comprises an element disposed about the valve housing and extending radially toward the wall of the container. The element may be either a funnel shaped element (5), a cover plate (6) or an annular volume reducing element (8), or any combination of these elements, formed either integrally or separately.
