A nozzle (A) for injection molding of thermoplastic materials which includes a nozzle body (17) having a bore (18) to pro- vide a flow path for molten thermoplastic. The nozzle body includes a shut-off valve fluid pin housing assembly (19) for recipro- cal movement in the nozzle body. The fluid pin housing has a tip portion (22) and a fluid passage (14) formed in the housing and open at the tip portion and the other end of the fluid passage communicating with an associated source of pressurized fluid. An actuator (46) is provided for reciprocation within the nozzle body of the shut- off valve fluid pin housing to an open or closed po- sition controlling the flow of plastic through the nozzle body. The fluid pin tip portion located in the fluid passage of the fluid pin housing having an adjustable orifice and fluid pin for preventing the flow of plastic through the valve body fluid passage.
