ABSTRACT An apparatus for inserting winding cores in a centreless winding machine having a pair of rotating support rolls includes a fastening and cutting device combined with an ejector beam into a structural unit adapted to pivot about the axis of one of the support rolls. The structural unit is mounted in such a manner as to be displaceable at right angles to the axes of the support rolls. The structural unit is mounted in such a manner as to be displaceable along a carriage guide by means of a motor and a rack-and-pinion drive on pivot levers.
