ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for interengaging a pair of rows of slide fastener coupling elements, operatively associated with a device for producing the tapes with said elements. The integrating device is of the type including a pair of radially spaced toothed wheels each guiding one respective row of elements, and additional pairs of presser rollers for engaging the respective tapes to press the elements of the two tapes into engagement with each other. Contrary to prior art wherein the toothed wheels and the presser rollers were generally coaxial, the invention proposes to displace the toothed wheels slightly in upstream direction whereby the location of engagement by the presser rollers is slightly downstream of that of engagement by the toothed wheels. Thus, the teeth of the toothed wheels do not obstruct the engaging motion of the elements during the pressing operation.
