APPARATUS FOR ION-NITRIDING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In apparatus for a continuous glow discharge nitriding treatment a workpiece is treated while it is being conveyed along a vacuum chamber. The workpiece is heated to a suitable temperature for glow discharge nitriding to take place steadily. A heat-retaining area keeps the workpiece at this temperature and a discharge device carries out a nitriding treatment by means of a glow discharge.
