An apparatus (10) for isolating and leveling a machine foundation with respect to a substructure of a building or the ground. The apparatus of the present invention provides an enclosure (24) connectable to the machine foundation. A load bearing member (44) is disposed within and adjustably connected to the enclosure. A support member (20) is positioned between and in contact with the bearing member and the substructure for supporting and isolating the machine foundation from the substructure and providing a leveling mechanism to level the machine foundation. The support member may include an elastomeric inner core having elastomercoated cords overlapping the inner core to resist radial expansion of the inner core upon the realization of a compressive force along a longitudinal axis of the inner core. The support member may also include a high-strength, rigid material, such as a steel I-beam, that is replaceable with other support members. Lastly, the support member may include an adjustable air bag having a conduit in communication with a pressurized air source.
La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil (10) permettant d'isoler et de mettre à niveau les fondations d'une machine par rapport à une sous-structure d'un bâtiment ou par rapport au sol. L'appareil de la présente invention comporte une enceinte (24) pouvant être raccordée aux fondations de la machine. Un élément porteur (44) est disposé à l'intérieur de l'enceinte à laquelle il est raccordé de manière réglable. Un élément support (20), qui est positionné entre l'élément porteur et la sous-structure est en contact avec l'élément porteur et la sous-structure de manière à supporter et à isoler les fondations de la machine de la sous-structure et à constituer un mécanisme de mise à niveau permettant de mettre à niveau les fondations de la machine. L'élément support peut comporter un noyau interne élastomère recouvert de cordons enduits d'élastomère de manière à résister à la dilatation radiale du noyau interne lors de l'application d'une force de compression le long d'un axe longitudinal du noyau interne. L'élément support peut également comporter un matériau rigide haute résistance, tel qu'une poutre d'acier en I, qui peut être remplacé par d'autres éléments de support. Enfin, l'élément support peut comporter un sac à air réglable ayant un conduit en communication avec une source d'air sous pression.
