ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An apparatus for joining the trailing end of a preceding sheet to the leading end of a following sheet is disclosed which effects the union of the two sheet ends by keeping the trailing end of the preceding sheet sucked to the lower sides of a pair of suction boxes disposed on a sheet path as separated by an interval, cutting the sheet so held in place along the interval, elevating a movable receiving table disposed below the sheet path and holding in place the leading end of the following sheet thereby bringing the leading end of the following sheet into contact with the cut end of the preceding strip of sheet thereby allowing the two sheet ends to be joined. - 17 -
