An apparatus (15) for and method of machining turbine blades (10, 11, 12, 13) utilising a machining apparatus having mounting means (16) for mounting the machine adjacent to the end of a turbine blade and having a machining head (31) automatically movable in three dimensions. The machine head (31) may carry a machine tool (35) or a probe such as a Renishaw probe which can be used to sense the shape of the desired form to feed information into a computer so that the machine may be operated automatically to machine subsequent blades. The probe may also be used after machining to check that the machine part is in accordance with the desired form.
L'invention se rapporte à un appareillage (15) ainsi qu'à un procédé d'usinage d'aubes (10, 11, 12, 13) de turbine utilisant une machine à usiner dotée de moyens de montage (16) permettant de monter cette machine au voisinage de l'extrémité d'une aube de turbine, ainsi que d'une tête (31) d'usinage pouvant se déplacer automatiquement dans trois dimensions. La tête (31) d'usinage peut supporter un outil (35) d'usinage ou une sonde telle qu'une sonde Renishaw, laquelle peut être utilisée pour détecter la configuration de la forme désirée afin de donner cette information à un ordinateur de manière que la machine puisse être commandée automatiquement pour l'usinage des aubes suivantes. On peut également utilisier la sonde après un usinage afin de vérifier que la pièce usinée est bien en conformité avec la forme souhaitée.
