An apparatus for maintaining a book in an open position, comprising a first arm having a connection end and a remote end; a second arm having a connection end and a remote end, the connection end of the second arm being pivotally connected to the connection end of the first arm for pivotal movement about a common pivot axis between an open position and a closed position, in the open position the remote end of the first arm and the remote end of the second arm are in spaced apart relation, in the closed position the first arm and the second arm are parallel with the remote end of the first arm immediately adjacent to the remote end of the second arm; and means for maintaining the first arm and the second arm in the open position, thereby holding pages of a book in an open position.
