The invention concerns a braid structure comprising a plurality of braided layers of stranded material in which said layers are laid down in a single pass of a braiding machine with at least one strand of each layer extending into a contiguous layer to form and interlock between the said layers. The invention also concerns a machine and a method of making the structure by supplying groups of strands (R, B, G, O, W) to a braid forming station whereby each group of strands forms a braid layer thereat; a strand (R) from one of the groups passing into or through the strands (B) of a group on an adjacent layer to form an interlock therebetween.

Structure tressée comportant une pluralité de couches tressées de matériau toronné, lesdites couches étant posées lors d'un seul passage d'une tresseuse. Au moins un toron de chaque couche s'étend dans une couche contiguë afin de former un verrouillage entre lesdites couches. On décrit également une machine et un procédé de fabrication de la structure en apportant des groupes de torons (R, Bleu, V, O, Blanc,) à un poste de formation de tresses dans lequel chaque groupe de torons forme une couche tressée. Un toron (R) d'un des groupes pénètre dans ou traverse les torons (B) d'un groupe d'une couche contiguë afin de former un verrouillage.
