APPARATUS FOR MAKING A TIGHTLY CLOSED LOOP OF A TAPE OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL AROUND AN OBJECT ABSTRACT An apparatus for fixing a tightly closed loop of a tape of thermoplastic material around an object, such as a bundle of cables. The apparatus includes two jaws which can be opened to encircle the object. The tape is fed around the inner periphery of the closed jaws. There are means for clamping the free end of the tape and pulling back the tape so as to draw it tight around the object. Welding members connected to a microwave generator, all incorporated into the apparatus, serve to effect a weld on the tape to form a closed loop around the object. * * * * *
