ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an apparatus for heating and uniting two or more concentrically extruded thermoplastic resins tubular films. A mandrel is located within the film and is heated by an externally placed electromagnetic wave trans- mitted from a high-frequency transmission circuit. Unlike known heating methods for similar purposes, the electromagnetic waves themselves do not affect the film. Instead, they interact with the mandrel and it is the mandrel itself which heats the films.
