ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an apparatus for manufacturing air-cushion dispatch packages, com- prising an unwinding mechanism (11, 24) for paper webs (14, 15) and for at least one air-cushion foil web (27, 30), means (32, 33, 34, 35, 36) for sealing and subsequently cooling the paper webs (14, 15) with each introduced web of air-cushion foil (27, 30) in the region of the edge of the dispatch package, traction means (40, 44) for the paper webs (14, 15) with sealed-in web of air- cushion foil (27, 30), and means (43, 45) for cutting the dispatch packages to the desired format, surface sealing means (32), which are arranged upstream of the sealing and cooling means (33-36), web control means (42), which are arranged upstream of the cutting means (43, 45) for correcting deviation of the paper webs (14, 15) united together by the sealed-in webs of air-cushion foil (27, 30), and a cycle control (39) for processing the paper webs (14, 15) with the webs of air-cushion foil (27, 30) are provided for the rapid and reliable manufacture of air- cushion dispatch packages using a simple construction.
