ABSTRACT Blow-moulding apparatus for forming hollow bodies having a pair of mould halves closeable at a parting plane for the mould, and in which each half comprises a first mould section and a second mould section independently movable coaxially of one another. The hollow body to be moulded has an external surface with a first greater transverse external dimension and a second lesser external dimension. The first body dimension is defined by the first mould sections when in closed condition, and the lesser body dimension is defined by the second mould sections in closed condition. In each of the mould halves, the first section guides the second section. A line of separation between the first and second sections is arranged to be located in the region of smallest radius of curvature of the body. The second mould section in each instance may include an island-like sharp-edged elevation with a rim which in the closed condition of the mould extends to the parting plane for defining an opening in the hollow body for hand-gripping of the body.
