ABSTRACT APPARATUS FOR MEASURING ECCENTRICITY OF ROLLS An apparatus is provided for measuring roll eccentricity has a housing adapted for guided transport along a reference path tangent to the roll face. The housing is also adpated to rotate the roll. An elongate runner extending lengthwise in the transport direction is displaceably mounted in the housing. The roll face abuts and displaces the runner but the runner mounting maintains the runner parallel to the transport direc- tion. Thus, measurements of runner displacement while the runner contacts the rotating roll an indication of eccentricity of the roll.
