In an apparatus for measuring facial exposure to radiation, a housing (12) is provided and includes a first recess (14) defined in-part by an end wall (16). A chip holder is also provided and defines a second recess (24) adapted to carry a thermoluminescent dosimetry chip. The chip holder is positioned in the first recess with the end wall and the first recess cooperating to form a chamber that encapsulates the thermoluminescent dosimetry chip. The apparatus is mountable to an eye protective device, such as a face shield, eyeglasses, or safety glasses to measure the amount of radiation to which the facial area of the wearer is exposed.

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil de mesure de l'exposition du visage à un rayonnement, qui comporte un logement (12) présentant un premier évidement (14) défini en partie par une paroi d'extrémité (16). Ledit appareil comporte également un support de cristal définissant un second évidement (24) conçu pour recevoir un cristal thermoluminescent destiné à la dosimétrie. Le support de cristal est positionné dans le premier évidement de sorte que la paroi d'extrémité coopère avec ce premier évidement pour former une chambre encapsulant le cristal thermoluminescent destiné à la dosimétrie. Ledit appareil peut être monté sur un dispositif de protection oculaire tel qu'un écran facial, des lunettes optiques ou des lunettes protectrices, de manière à permettre la mesure de la dose de rayonnement à laquelle est exposé le visage de l'utilisateur.
