ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The apparatus for measuring a property of a fluid relative to a given dimension has a sensor probe containing a quantity of wire to be deployed when it is traversing the said dimension, and a recording device including a record medium connected to the wire for recording signals sent by the sensor probe relative to the property. Means are also provided for moving a portion of the recording device at a rate substantially related to the rate of movement of the probe, and for compensat- ing for the change in the rate of movement of the probe due to the deployment of wire therefrom.
