APPARATUS FOR MELTING AND DISPENSING THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hot melt adhesive application apparatus including a thermally-sensitive electronic control assembly. The electronic control assembly is adequately thermally insulated from heat generated by the melt tank. The electronic control assembly as well as the pneumatic control assembly are positionable so as to race either to the front or to the rear of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a sturdy base by which the apparatus may be lifted without damage to the enclosure. In addition, the tank enclosure includes a flow passage for molten hot melt adhesive that has leaked past the pump shaft to flow back into the tank.
