There is provided apparatus (10) for attaching a serrated cutting strip to a carton blank comprising a first means for (24) conveying carton blanks past a second means (16), the second means (16) being arranged to cut a cutting strip from a supply (38) of cutting strip material and deposit said cutting strip upon a carton blank. The first means comprises a conveyor belt (24) preferably fitted with suction means, and the second means (16) comprises upper (58) and lower dies movable relative to one another and means (14) to feed a supply of cutting strip material between said dies. In use initial downward movement of the upper die (58) cuts a cutting strip from the supply of cutting strip material, said cutting strip being retained upon the upper die (58) by suction. Further downward movement of the upper die (58) brings the cutting strip into contact with a carton blank. The apparatus (10) includes alignment means (26, 34) to ensure the carton blanks are correctly positioned relative to the second means (16) when the cutting strips are attached.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) destiné à fixer une bande tranchante dentelée à une ébauche de carton, comprenant un premier moyen servant à (24) faire passer des ébauches de carton par un second moyen (16), le second moyen (16) étant prévu pour découper une bande tranchante dans un matériau source (38) pour bandes tranchantes, et pour poser ladite bande tranchante sur une ébauche de carton. Le premier moyen comprend une courroie transporteuse (24) équipée, de préférence, d'un moyen d'aspiration. Le second moyen (16) comprend un emporte-pièce supérieur (58) et un emporte-pièce inférieur mobiles l'un par rapport à l'autre, et un moyen (14) servant à amener le matériau source pour bandes tranchantes entre lesdits emporte-pièces. Durant l'utilisation, un mouvement initial de l'emporte-pièce supérieur (58) vers le bas découpe une bande tranchante dans le matériau source pour bandes tranchantes, ladite bande tranchante étant retenue sur l'emporte-pièce supérieur (58) par aspiration. Ensuite, un mouvement vers le bas de l'emporte-pièce supérieur (58) met la bande tranchante en contact avec une ébauche de carton. Le dispositif (10) comprend un moyen d'alignement (26, 34) pour assurer un positionnement correct des ébauches de carton par rapport au second moyen (16), lorsque les bandes tranchantes y sont fixées.
