The present invention relates to an apparatus (10) for mounting of auxiliary equipment (70) on a vehicle containment system (12), with the apparatus (10) comprising: - at least one engagement portion (28) which is adapted to engage a section (24) of the vehicle containment system (12); - at least one holding arm (34) which extends from the engagement portion (28); as well as - at least one coupling element (40) which is mounted on the holding arm (34), for coupling of auxiliary equipment (70) to be mounted on the vehicle containment system (12), wherein the holding arm (34) is formed with an abutment portion (36) remote from the engagement portion (28) to bear against the vehicle containment system (12) under its dead weight as well as the load of the apparatus.
