Curling pebble on an ice surface is removed by a rotating brush which rotates at relatively high speed to effect a melting action of the pebble and thus breaking of the pebble for collection into a catchment container mounted forwardly of the brush. The brush is carried on a frame and is driven by a motor mounted on the frame. Ground wheels are positioned behind the brush and the frame is pushed by a manually operable handle extending upwardly and rearwardly from the rear of the frame.
