Apparatus for painting a water-based paint or an oil-based paint on top of a water-based paint coat in a wet-on-wet manner onto an article to obtain a water-based paint coat. The apparatus includes a front-stage paint booth for painting therein a water-based paint to obtain the water-based paint coat, a first predrying chamber in line with and after the front-stage paint booth and having devices for heating with far infrared rays, a second predrying chamber in line with and after the first predrying chamber and having devices for heating with hot air, and a rear-stage paint booth in line with and after the second predrying chamber for painting therein either the water-based paint or the oil-based paint.

Dispositif permettant d'appliquer une peinture à l'eau ou une peinture à l'huile sur une couche de peinture encore humide sur un article pour obtenir une couche de peinture à l'eau. Le dispositif comprend une cabine de peinture avant pour y appliquer une peinture à l'eau pour obtenir la couche de peinture à l'eau, une première chambre de préséchage de la peinture dans le même axe et à la suite de la cabine de peinture avant, équipée de dispositifs de chauffage par rayons infrarouges; une deuxième chambre de préséchage dans le même axe que la première chambre de préséchage et placée après cette dernière et équipée de dispositifs de chauffage à l'air chaud, et d'une cabine de peinture arrière dans le même axe que la deuxième chambre de préséchage et à la suite de cette dernière afin d'y appliquer soit la peinture à l'eau, soit la peinture à l'huile.
