A therapeutic bed (1) for photodynamic therapy has a ground engaging base portion (2) with a patient support platform (3). A cover (4) is hingedly mounted on this base portion (2) and cooperates with the base portion (2) to form a patient treatment compartment (6) within which a patient (7) is fully bathed in light from LED panels (8) arranged about the patient support platform (3) to direct light of a preselected wavelength at the patient (7). The wavelength of the light corresponds to the peaks of absorption of an associated photosensitive agent administered to the patient (7) which has an affinity for malignant cells.

L'invention concerne un lit thérapeutique (1) pour thérapie photodynamique comprenant une partie de base en contact avec le sol (2) ainsi qu'une plate-forme de support de patient (3). Un couvercle (4) est monté pivotant sur la partie de base (2) et coopère avec ladite partie de base (2) de manière à former un compartiment de traitement de patient (6) à l'intérieur duquel un patient (7) est entièrement baigné dans une lumière en provenance de panneaux à DEL (8) agencés autour de la plate-forme de support de patient (3) et permettant d'émettre une lumière d'une longueur d'onde présélectionnée en direction du patient (7). La longueur d'onde de la lumière correspond aux crêtes d'absorption d'un agent photosensible associé administré au patient (7) et présentant une affinité pour les cellules malignes.
