ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hand tool for joining thermoplastic strapping about an article in which a continuous link-belt carrying engaging jaw portions are used to tension portions of the strapping. Use of a continuous link-belt permits its jaw portions to continuously be in engagement with the strapping over a relatively large area of the strapping minimizing damage to the strip and permitting welding to be carried out without additional clamping devices.
