ABSTRACT The plugging apparatus comprises a fixed support frame (18) with a main pivot, a rotary support arm (20) mounted on said pivot and bearing clay gun (14) and a hydraulic jack (26) for rotating the support arm (20) and the clay gun (14). In order to reduce the surface, the rod of the jack (26) is arranged to move constantly through an indentation (36) provided for this purpose in the support arm (20) which is bent in such a way that the inside of the bend (32) positions itself around the journals of the jack (26).
