ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for power load-shedding is disclosed which has an auxiliary thermostat disposed in the conditioned space for controlling the ON-OFF cycling function of a space conditioning apparatus during a load-shedding interval. The auxiliary thermostat includes an external communication signal receiver and a transmitter for transmitting control signals to a space conditioner control which controls the connection of available power to the space conditioner. The thermostat utilized during normal operation of the space conditioning means is disconnected during the load-shedding interval. The auxiliary thermostat is adapted to be supplied with line voltage as by plugging into a conventional outlet.
