ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for converting patterns of intensity-modulated scanning lines, each pattern representing an X-ray picture of an object when irradiated by a substantially flat beam of X-rays, into electrical signals, wherein such pattern is projected onto the target of a storage type camera tube having deflection means arranged for scanning said pattern along a plurality of sweeps, each extending substantially transverse relative to the pattern lines, and information derived from each one of said transverse scanning sweeps being individually processed.
