ABSTRACT The invention is concerned with an apparatus for producing a propellant for aerosols free from fluorochloro- hydrocarbons and having reduced combustibility. The appa- ratus of the invention comprises first feeding means for supplying a hydrocarbon of industrial degree of purity liquified under pressure; coarse filtering means connected to the first feeding means for removing oily impurities from the fed hydrocarbon; fine filtering means connected to the coarse filtering means for removing odor-causing impurities from the coarse filtered hydrocarbon; second feeding means connected to the fine filtering means for admixing a chlorohydrocarbon with the hydrocarbon while being fine filtered, gas sterilization filtering means connected to the fine filtering means for further purifying the mixture of hydrocarbon and chlorohydrocarbon and for allowing further mixing of same; and pressure containing means connected to the gas sterilization filtering means for collecting the purified mixture.
