An apparatus is provided for forming individual sheets having a folded edge portion from a length of supplied sheet material which may be used by hairstylists in hair colouring or tinting applications. The apparatus includes a folding assembly for forming the folded edge portion of the sheet by bending part of the sheet material back over itself, and a shearing assembly operable to sever individual sheets from a remainder of the supplied material. The folding assembly includes a support table and a pivotally movable folding arm. The pivotally moveable folding arm actuable to move about a pivot axis from a first inactivated position where the sheet material is movable substantially unhindered therepast, and a second folding position where the folding arm is pivoted to bend an edge portion of the sheet engaged thereby rearwardly. Preferably, the folding arm acts in conjunction with a guide bar which includes a support surface against which the bent portion of the sheet material is folded. The shearing; assembly includes a cutting blade which is movable to sever individual sheets having the desired length from a remaining portion of the infeed sheet material. Preferably, the cutting blade is mounted so as to extend radially from an at least partially a rotatable blade mount, wherein the rotation of the blade mount moves the cutting blade into shearing contact with the sheet. Most preferably the cutting blade is provided as part of a blade assembly which is rotatable about a blade rotation axis and with the cutting edge of the blade mounted in an orientation extending partially radially about the blade rotation axis.
