ABSTRACT A apparatus for procuding plastic pellets which includes an extruder having a cylinder (3), a disc (7) having nozzle apertures disposed in such a manner as to close an open end of the cylinder, the nozzle apertures being arranged along the periphery of the disc, a rotary cutter (8) carried on a holder supported on a rotary shaft, an air blower (9, 10) incorporated in the rotary shaft, the air blower blowing air in a direction in which the plastic material is extruded, the cutter being disposed at such a distance from the nozzle apertures so that at the extruded plastic is cut into pellets, a cooling chamber (19) having an upper section and a lower section, the upper section having an increasing cross-sectional area downward and the lower section having a decreasing cross-sectional area downward, and a pellet collector (23) for collecting pellets.
