An apparatus for accessing field devices in a distributed control system provides non-redundant secondary access to a plurality of field devices that are controlled by a control room. An apparatus also provides redundant wireless to access field devices in a distributed control system having primary access to the field devices provided by hard- wired media that couples the field devices to the control room. The field devices are coupled to a Fieldbus control network. In a first embodiment, each field device is provided with a wireless Fieldbus port that is accessible by a wireless handheld unit or wireless terminal. In a second embodiment, each Fieldbus control network is provided with a field module having a wireless Fieldbus port that allows all devices connected to the Fieldbus control network to be accessed by a wireless handheld unit or a wireless terminal. In a third embodiment, an H2-to- H1 Fieldbus bridge (which may service a plurality of H1 control networks) is provided with a wireless Fieldbus port that allows all Fieldbus devices connected to H1 control networks serviced by the H2-to-H1 bridge to be accessed by a wireless handheld unit of a wireless terminal. In a fourth embodiment, a bridge/converter provides an interface between older analog control room components and newer Fieldbus field devices.
Appareil placé dans un système de commande distribué et permettant de communiquer par des liaisons secondaires non redondantes avec plusieurs dispositifs du domaine d'exploitation commandés depuis une salle de contrôle. L'appareil permet également des liaisons sans fils redondantes dans un système de commande distribué où l'accès principal aux postes du domaine d'exploitation depuis la salle de contrôle se fait par des liaisons par fils. Les postes du domaine d'exploitation sont reliés à un réseau de commande Fieldbus. Dans une première version, chaque poste du domaine d'exploitation est muni d'un port Fieldbus sans fil accessible à partir d'un combiné portatif ou d'un terminal sans fils. Dans une seconde version, chacun du réseau de commande Fieldbus comporte un module de domaine d'exploitation muni d'un port sans fils accessible à partir d'un combiné portatif ou d'un terminal sans fils. Dans une troisième version, un pontage H2-H1 du Fieldbus est doté d'un port Fieldbus sans fils permettant d'accéder à tous les ports du Fieldbus reliés au réseaux de commande H1 desservis par un pontage H2-H1 à partir d'un combiné portatif ou d'un terminal sans fil. Dans une quatrième version, un pontage/convertisseur constitue un interface entre les anciens organes de la salle de commande et les nouveaux équipements Fieldbus du domaine d'exploitation.
