ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for purifying nonforrous metals melts,such as aluminum melts, by flotation, degassing, and optionally chlorlnatlon techniques is provided whlch includes a tank provided with a heating system and a removal covering, an inlet for the molt to be purified, an outlat for the resultant purified melt and an lnlet for the introduction of a flushing gas into the melt in tho lower region of the tank. The tank includes a central chamber which is formed by on imler pipe and which is aonnected 1~ its end region with the, tank and optional Intermediate and outer chambers. Tho inlet ~or the flushing gas and the inlet for the melt to be purfied connect to the centrcl chamber, While tho outlet for the purified melt connects with a tank space or Im opdonel chamber surrouding the central chamber, Preterably, the apparahus includes multiple p;pcelementsformingmultiplechambersconcentrically arrangedsand connectedd and colmected in a siphon- labyrinth fashionion,
