ABSTRACT: "Apparatus for reading an optical record carrier." Faults in servo control systems as a result of, for example, signal spikes caused by inter alia thickness variations of, air bubbles in, and scratches and dust particles on the substrate of the record carrier in an apparatus for reading an optical record carrier, can be suppressed effectively by arranging a limiter in the servo control system of said apparatus. Suitably, the limiter has an adaptive nature, i.e. the limiting levels are adapted to the amplitude of the servo signal.
