ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Heat loss from a furnace is reuced by injecting air into the vent pipe in a direction opposite to that of the flow of exhaust gas from the furnace. Air is injected into the vent pipe when the furnace is not operating and is not injected when the furnace isoperating.
