A B S T R A C T Apparatus for reefing sails on a boat and specially-designed boom including such an apparatus. The invention refers to sail boats. The hollow boom extrusion (8) houses at least one traveller block (26) with two pulley wheels (34 , 36), over which pass the reefing leech line (34) and the reefing luff line (44). The apparatus makes it possible to take one or more reefs in the sail (10) simply by pulling on the free and (54) of the reefing luff line (44) which leads into the cockpit of the boat. Figure 1.
