Abstract of the Disclosure A rigid but flexible bondbar interconnects first and second electrical cable ends in a vicinity of a splice region thereof, the bondbar being shaped and constructed such that it is substantially rigid when exposed to axial tensile loads below a first value and is irreversibly bent when subjected to axial tensile loads above the first value, an overall flex length of the bondbar being such that both of the cable ends are prevented from being pulled out of the cable repair region.
