ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Apparatus for removing cut-to-length hot strand sections from the discharge roller beds of a multi-strand continuous casting installation for steel while simultaneously turning the sections. The pivot shaft for levers, provided with means for receiving cut-to-length strand sections, is located below a cooling bed positioned laterally of the discharge roller beds and approximately mid-way between the cooling bed and the roller bed remotest therefrom. In this way and because of the form of the receiving means and of a chute associated with the roller bed nearest the colling bed, it is possible to move a plurality of strand sections, turned through 90°, simultaneously from dif- ferent roller beds directly on to the cooling bed, using only one pivoting device, and to push forward the entire stack of sections.
