APPARATUS FOR REMOVING GAS FROM LIQUID Abstract of the Disclosure Water reclaimed from sewage is improved by removing noxious gases entrained in the water during processes that purify sewage or polluted water. The method involves dispersing and scattering the water into droplets or fine streams by having it gravitationally descend through sieve members in a raintower chamber without adding heat to the water. The surface area of the water is thus increased, promoting the escape of noxious gases therefrom. Gas removal is further accomplished by cascading the water from the sieve members and causing air at outside ambient temperature to flow in a direction that opposes the descending water, thereby simultaneously aerating the water and removing noxious gases therefrom. - 1 -
