ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Stone sawing apparatus suitable for severing a large rough block of hard stone such as granite efficiently into smaller blocks or slabs. One unit comprises an endless chain belt fixedly mounted therearound with a plurality of segments, each having diamond grits deposited on a metallic matrix, with a space between every adjacent two. A pair of sprocket wheels, at least one of which is driven by any suitable prime mover, are mounted for rotation respectively to the concerned bracket which is mounted for slidingly moving along each of the vertical posts. The apparatus can comprise a desired number of said unit parallelly arranged so that the stone block fed on the wheeled carriage is movable in the direction transverse to said chain saw running direction.
