A sealing arrangement for a vacuum seed metering mechanism including a housing assembly divided into a seed receiving chamber and a vacuum chamber by a relatively this circular seed disc having parallel and flat sides. The seed disc is provided with a circular row of throughopenings adjacent the periphery of the seed disc. The openings serve to pick up seeds in the seed receiving chamber of the seed metering mechanism and carry the seeds around under the influence of pressure differentials to the seed discharge area of the seed metering mechanism. A sector of the seed disc is partitioned off both from the vacuum and chamber and the seed receiving chamber to allow the seeds to be released from the disc and gravitationally deposited into the furrow passing beneath the seed metering mechanism. The housing assembly of the seed metering mechanism has integrally formed thereon a pair of radially spaced annular flat sealing faces. The annular faces are joined to each other in a common plane and form the vacuum chamber extending in the direction of rotation of the seed disc. The sealing faces of the housing assembly are disposed on opposed sides of the row of apertures in the disc. The sealing faces on the housing assembly are arranged in confronting relation to the flat side of the seed disc. In combination with the vacuum acting thereon, spring structure resiliently urges the seed disc toward and into continuous sliding contact with the sealing faces on the housing assembly thereby maintaining a sealing relationship between the disc and the housing assembly throughout operation of the seed metering mechanism thus establishing a pressure differential at the holes or openings of the seed disc for holding the seeds to the disc.
Dispositif d'obturation pour doseur de graines à vide, comprenant un boîtier divisé en deux chambres, soit une chambre de réception des graines et une chambre à vide, au moyen d'un disque à graines dont les surfaces sont parallèles et plates. Le disque à graines comporte une série d'orifices réalisés sur la périphérie du disque. Les orifices permettent de prendre les graines se trouvant dans la chambre de réception du doseur et de les transporter par pression différentielle jusqu'à la zone d'évacuation des graines du doseur. Une partie du disque à graines est séparée de la chambre à vide et de la chambre de réception pour permettre aux graines de tomber du disque et d'être déposées par gravité dans les sillons se trouvant sous le doseur. Le boîtier du doseur comporte deux surfaces scellantes planes intégrées. Les surfaces circulaires sont reliées sur le même plan et forment la chambre à vide dans le sens de la rotation du disque à graines. Les surfaces scellantes du boîtier sont disposées sur les côtés opposés de la rangée d'orifices réalisés dans le disque, et en relation oppositionnelle par rapport au côté plat du disque, ce qui, combiné à la pression à vide exercée sur le disque, fait en sorte qu'un ressort pousse le disque en un glissement continu vers les surfaces scellantes du boîtier pour assurer l'étanchéité entre le disque et le boîtier pendant que le doseur fonctionne, appliquant ainsi une pression différentielle sur les orifices du disque pour maintenir les graines dans le disque.
